Each student must make 6 flashcards (A,B,C,D,E,X) and each letter has a specific color as background:
A-red, B-green, C-yellow, D-blue, E-pink, X-black. They can use art paper for this. The letters can be made as "holes" on the art paper. The powerpoint file is for the outline of the letters so that they will have the same size of letters. Each letter is 1/4 of the short art paper. The jpeg file shows you the expected outcome of their flashcards. They can paste this on a white folder para mas matibay. They will be using this again on july 11.

1. FIRST THINGS FIRST ...
- A new Registrar was hired last summer. Her name is Mrs. Theresa Ongchangco-Diaz, an alumnae of PSHS Batch 1984.
2. ARE YOU OFFICIALLY ENROLLED? Even if you are already attending classes, the Registrar will consider you absent unless you are officially enrolled. The only valid reason that will be accepted by the Registrar for not completing enrolment is if you came from abroad and had to be on self-quarantine during enrolment. Being sick (of diseases other than H1N1) is not an excuse. Somebody else could have enrolled you.
- If you did not come from abroad, and were not able to complete enrolment on the first week of June, you will be considered as absent by the Registrar's Office starting June 15 until you complete enrolment.
- If you came from abroad, you are expected to exercise self-quarantine for ten (10) days from arrival. Therefore,
- Those who arrived within the dates of May 25 to June 6 should complete your enrolment on June 15.
- Those who arrived on June 7, you are expected to report and complete enrolment on the 16th.
- Those who arrived (and are arriving) after June 7, you will be excused only for the ten-day period from the date of arrival, unless your trip is officially endorsed by the school (e.g. participated in a competition).
For example, if you arrived on June 11, you are expected to report to school and complete enrolment on June 22. You are excused from June 15 to 19. I f you arrive on June 17, you will be excused only for the ten-day period from arrival date - June 17-26; you are not excused on June 15 and 16.
Students coming from abroad are expected to submit proof of the date of arrival to the Registrar's Office if you are not yet enrolled before June 15.
PLEASE BE REMINDED that self-quarantine means ... minimal contact with other people. Do not even send representatives who have come into contact with you after arrival from abroad to enrol for you. We'll see you on the 10th day after your arrival.
3. HAIRCUT Effective SY 2009-2010, the regulation haircut for boys is 2x3. This was the recommendation made by the Student Alliance advisers at the end of the previous school year, which the Management Committee has approved. Announcements of reinforcement will be made at the start of classes.
4. HYGIENE
BRING YOUR OWN SPOONS AND FORKS
All students are advised by the PSHS Cooperative to bring your own spoons and forks in order to avoid spread of communicable diseases. Utensils will still be availabe at the canteen, but a deposit fee will be collected, refundable upon return of the borrowed utensils.
PRACTICE HYGIENE AND SANITATION - Include alcohol and soap in your schoolbags.
- Always wash your hands with soap and water after using the toilet.

Since there will be no adjustment of exam skeds despite the 1 week cancellation of classes, we will devote only the 1st 20 mins of the 1st meeting for intro/orientation and the next 25 mins for the lesson proper.
So for your assignment, please read about CONIC SECTIONS on your textbook (The Calculus With Analytic Geometry 6th edition by Louis Leithol) and on the internet.
In particular, you should be able to answer the following questions:
1. What is a cone (in mathematical sense)?
2. What are the parts of a cone?
3. What is a conic section?
4. What are the different types of conic sections and how are they obtained geometrically?
5. Give some practical applications of each type of conic. What characteristic/ property of conic is used in each of those applications?
STR: FOR ALL SECTIONS, Prepare 3 topics per person for STR Proposal =o walang binigay na specific date kung kelan due so just be ready with it.
